Puducherry  State  Health  Mission

v  National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) has been launched for nationwide implementation from April 2005. 

v  National Health Mission launched in 2013 by GOI.  Under National Health Mission, National Urban Health Mission and National Rural Health Mission are two sub-missions.

v  NHM envisages, “ Attainment of Universal Access of Equitable, Affordable and Quality Health care services, accountable and responsive to people’s needs, with effective

inter-sectoral convergent action to address the wider social determinants of health” G.O.Ms.No.12 & 13 dated 25.02.2014 issued for NHM.

Objectives:

Ø  Reducing Child and Maternal Mortality

Ø  Accessibility of Primary Health Care & Public Health

Ø  Control of Communicable & Non Communicable Diseases

Ø  Population Stabilization

Ø  Mainstreaming of AYUSH

Ø  Promotion of Healthy Life Style
